The long-awaited return of an underground legend in power and progressive metal. "The View From Below" offers over 45 minutes and 8 new songs featuring vocalist Will Shaw with the original rhythm section lineup of Terry Gorle, Ray Schwartz and Derek Peace, and keyboardist Op Sakiya who has performed with the band since 2004. To this day, Graceful Inheritance remains the highest rated album in the history of Germany's ROCK HARD magazine, rated at 49 of 50 points by the 5-man editorial staff when released in January of 1986. In 2005, "Graceful Inheritance" was placed at #188 in ROCK HARD's "Best of Rock and Metal - Top 500 albums of all time" hardcover book which catalogs 40 years of rock and metal music history. It is worth noting that this album had never been released in the US until a 30th Anniversary limited edition vinyl was produced in January 2016 by NW Metalworx.

Shortly after Steve Benito was recruited as vocalist in May 1987, he recorded vocals on "Keeper of the Reign" and "We, the People" for a new demo. In January 1988, Heir Apparent recorded their rehearsal of eleven new songs, mixed to stereo live by Tom Hall. This live demo became an underground metal tape trader classic, and 12 years later this would be released by Hellion Records in Germany on CD.
In October of 1988, Heir Apparent signed a seven album contract with Metal Blade/Capitol Records, and recording began at Triad Studios, once again with Tom Hall engineering. Heir Apparent expanded into progressive metal with the material on One Small Voice. The original album was released in June of 1989, and remains highly regarded as one of the classic pioneering albums of the genre. The 2000 remaster pictured here contains two additional tracks.
A very special heavier "Restored, Remixed, Remastered" version of One Small Voice available on vinyl, CD, and via Bandcamp, features only songs written as Heir Apparent between 1987-1988 (no covers), revealing the missing intensity of the original 1989 release. The CD version as well as the Bandcamp download also include a studio track never before released.

This recording of 8 songs was made on 4-track tape in a basement rehearsal room between November of 1983 and February of 1984. This recording is being offered as an insight into a chapter of creative inspiration and exploration during the formative months of the band. Vocalist Corey Rivers had been very influential during this time, but he left the group in the spring of 1984. Paul Davidson joined the band a few months later, and Heir Apparent was born.
Recorded at Triad Studios, July 1-4, 1984. This 5-song demo EP received local radio play in Seattle and received excellent reviews in rock and metal publications throughout Europe. This was the band's first experience in a recording studio, revealing the original extended versions of several metal classics that would later appear on "Graceful Inheritance."
First released in 2016 in vinyl, the limited edition of 500 copies in black or green tri-fold triple-vinyl from Floga Records is sold out.
Released May 28 2021
